WELCOME TO THE HURRICANES
The Hurstbridge Hurricanes Basketball Club provides the opportunity for both children and adults from the Nillumbik area to join in our community minded basketball club. The Hurricanes is a non-for profit club that is run by an incredible group of volunteers.
ABOUT US
At Hurstbridge Hurricanes we pride ourselves on on developing young basketball players‘ skills and teamwork. We achieve this through providing the opportunity for both children and adults from the local area to partake in a healthy, family orientated activity.
Our junior teams are made up of under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 years.
All teams play in the Diamond Valley Basketball Association (DVBA) competition of which there are two seasons per year. A season usually consists of 16 rounds plus finals. Games are played at various stadiums in the Diamond Valley region and the junior teams have a training session once a week at the Hurstbridge stadium on Graysharps Road, Hurstbridge.
Each team has a coach, usually a parent, but sometimes an older player. All coaches over 18 years are required to have their Working with Children accreditation, as per club policy.
